Noah x Roxy Music

Noah, the New York based streetware brand pays tribute to my favorite art rock group, Roxy Music, in a new capsule collection that attempts to capture some of their glam rock aesthetic and romanticism, while adapting it to today’s streetware sensibilities.

In my very first post here, I mentioned Bryan Ferry’s tiger skin jacket so it it was with considerable delight that I saw that Noah has recreated it here. Re-made and re-modeled as a varsity jacket for $1,198, it’s far more wearable and far less outrageous than the original. And, as with a white corduroy version of Ferry’s double-breasted evening jacket, available for $748, it’s the perfect mix of Noah’s preppy collegiate vibe with Roxy’s romantic appeal.

There is something here for everyone from lifelong fans like me who picked up the first self-titled album in 1972 to those who didn’t discover them until their masterpiece Avalon in 1982. No judgements! A few other signature pieces, including a note-perfect recreation of Ferry’s black & white polka dot scarf which he wore throughout the 70s with the band for $98 and an oversized button-down shirt with artwork from the live album, The High Road in 1983 for $188 round out the collection. But most of it is made up of affordable t-shirts and sweatshirts in neutrals like gray, white and black featuring song titles and album artwork so everyone can join the party.

For pure nostalgia, there’s even an ashtray inscribed with Love Is The Drug for $28. These days it could be a good place to store your keys and any loose change you may have laying around.

The Noah x Roxy Music capsule collection is available in the label’s NY Store and on its website.
