Late in his career, Beatle George Harrison was known for rocking the Canadian tuxedo, which features head-to-toe denim. That look is divisive among fashion guys, but denim is at the core of everything Levis does, so why not prove to the haters that head to toe denim can be fashionable? Other Levis labels, notably Made & Crafted, are more fashion-forward than the mainline. But this is the first time Levis has specifically targeted older, more sophisticated customers. Blue Tab features coordinated denim separates intended to be worn together. Unlike the more experimental Orange Tab line, which is designed for younger people, the new silhouettes are designed as sophisticated upgrades that riff on Levi’s classics from the 1960s and the 1990s. With roots in workwear and incorporating Japanese craftsmanship, Blue Tab uses top-quality fabrics such as neppy denim, chambray shirting, and dark blue proprietary selvage denim from Japan’s Kaihara Denim Mill that provides a more premium feel. The Marker Loose jean takes inspiration from the 511 and 501. Also included in the initial collection is the Marc Ruth Jacket, a fishtail parka, a Blue Tab branded Type 1 Jacket, chambray work jackets, heavyweight t-shirts, and structured button-downs. It’s the Levis you’ve worn all your life but with elevated fabrics and a stylish twist. The clothes are just as comfortable as ever but bring sophistication to what has been casual clothing. There’s even a two-piece, well-tailored suit with flared trousers. Harrison would have loved it.
The Levi’s Blue Tab Collection will be available for the ’25 Spring/Summer collection.
